I enclose Rerewitties of letters which have been bijed from the Chase Net roma i bank and the National City Bank about the r turn of their representatives to Hong
Kong.
MacDougall saw these people on the 2nd of August and subsequently wrote to them as in his semi-official letter of August 15th, a copy of which
6.8.45 is also enclosed.
I enclose also a draft of an official reply on the lines of MacDougall's own letter. We think there is no reason why this should be held up pending the settlement of the general question of the facilities to Allied Banks which was raised in Gent's letter to Anderson of the 20th August. May we therefore have your concurrence and that of Young end Sterndale-Bennet to whom
