Stendale Bommett's letter No. F.5589/1147/G of 23rd August, covering & proposed reply to the telogram un er consider tion, 20. at at the face saving compro ise proposed in lung ing Folegan c. 909, although not porhans entirely satisfactor, was, from the military point of view, cceptable. They felt, moreover hat its acceptance wild enable us to ti y up once and for 11 a situation wich had boons, extremely involved, and would al o avoid olie abing the sympathy and good will of the United States Chiefs of tot on tais faltor.
