EMERGENCY

Following dispositions have been made for cocupation of Hong Kong.

(a) Task Group 111.2 under Rear Admiral Harcourt in INDOMITABLE with VENERABLE SWIPTSURE three DD and PRINCE ROBERT Sailed Xym Spuney completed as far as possible with rehabilitation personnel and stores 15th August for Manus and Leyto and could arrive off Hong Kong 26th August.

(b) Negotiations proceeding with Australian Goverment

for SHROPSHIRE (Commodore Collins) HOBART and two DD to proceed from Subic date of arrival et Hong Kong two days after leaving Subic R.A.N. Minesweepers joining from Morotai probably 20th August, MAIDSTONE and Submarines and

OXFORDSHIRE now at Subic would also join up with this force.

A further Task Group 111.3 under Rear Admiral Servaes in Bermuda with COLOSSUS and three D.D's left Sydney 15th August for Manus and Leyte and thence for duty elsewhere on China Coast as circumstances may require.

BURYALUS ARGONAUT and one DD each augment Task Group 111.2 and 111.3 respectively at Manus.
