Colonial Office would be grateful if you could sound Dickinson confidentially whether he is willing to consider an offer of a temporary post in Hong Kong for about 18 months to assist with agricultural rehabilitation on the Colony's liberation. If he is interested it is intended to make him an offer in the near future."
