Dear Mr. Scott,

I wonder if you would

be kind enough to arrange for an urgent telegram to be sent to Chungking as in the attached draft? The reason for urgency is that we seem to be in some danger of losing Dr. Eggleton for the Hong Kong Planning Unit unless we can reach a decision in the very pear future.

Perhaps the telegram

might also be repeated to the China Relations Office, Calcutta, (with whom I understand you are in telegraphic communication) since it is possible that Mr. MacDougall may already have left Chungking.

Yours sincerely,

Аварства

A.L. SCOTT ESQ.
