Future of Hong Kong.

Asked by Mr. Astor whether Hong Kong or any other part of the Empire is excluded from the Prime Minister's declaration that it is not proposed to liquidate the British Empire, Mr. Attlee, Deputy Prime Minister replied that no part of the British Empire or Commonwealth of Nations is excluded from the scope of the declaration referred to. He also assumed Mr. Astor that all encouragements will be given to British firms to prepare to establish themselves in Hong Kong to advance British expert trade in that area.
