Would you kindly refer to telegram No. 2881 of the 13th August from Berne on the subject of reciprocal treatment for British persons and property in Japan and Occupied China.
On receipt of a copy of this telegram we applied for a copy of your telegram No. 1721 of the 2bth June and were informed that a copy of this was sent to us on the 27th June. Unfortunately there is no trace here of this earlier copy, but what concerns me more is that there is also no record of consultation with ourselves
between the receipt by yourselves of F4:57 No. 1956 of the 3rd June from
Berne and the despatch on the 25th June of No. 1721 to
Berne.
