Socory Petrol Installation.

Plant and stocks.

As for Texaco; these two items are interdependent. Scheme has been prepared and will be carried out by the R. E. personnel detailed, for the Texaco installation after that demolition is completed. The general scheme is the same, namely, burning of white spirit and running black oils to waste. Time to complete 3 hours.

3.- Sequence of Demolition.

Plants will be demolished in the following order:-

1. South China Ironworks.

2. Texaco Petrol Installation. 3. Socony Petrol Installation. 4. HongKong Whampoa Dock.

Cosmopolitan Dock.

Green Island Cement Co. Y.S. Bailey & Co.

Kowloon/Canton Railway.

China Light & Power (First 5 turbines). 5. China Light & Power (sixth turbine).

4.- Orders for Demolition.

(Reference para. 4 (c)).

Each installation visited was asked for, and furnished, the name of their responsible European and deputies to whom the order for demolition should be delivered, together with the place at which the message would be received.

The factors influencing the time at which the various demolition orders will be issued are outside the scope of thiế report and appear to be a matter for discussion by the Local Defence Committee.

Laying of Charges. (Reference para.4(d)).

The laying of charges at some suitable time in advance does not appear practicable as there will not be any available Naval or Military personnel to guard them, and production must contime until demolition appears necessary.

It is suggested that the stocks of necessery explosive (Less detonators) be issued now to all European

installations.

All such installations have suitable lock-up stores. The detonators can be stored in Test Fort, Kowloon, and issued when the necessity for demolition appears inminent.

In order to simplify the placing of charges, it is suggested that some symbol, such as a conspicuous "x", be painted now at the points where charges are to be placed.
