ALIENS.
(c) the Consul-General, Consul, Vice-Consul or Consular Agent representing the State under the flag of which such ship is sailing; any Agent of the Government of India appoint- ed under section 7 of the Indian Emigration Act, 1922, if such ship is arriving whether directly or otherwise from British India.

8. (1) Every ship having aliens on board which arrives at any port in the Colony shall be boarded as soon as practicable by the Immigration Officer.
(2) Except with the permission of the Immigration Officer, no alien shall land or disembark or attempt to land or disembark from any ship until the Immigration Officer has authorized the hauling down of the signal hoisted as prescribed in section 6.
(3) Such permission may be general or may be limited to particular persons or classes of persons.
9. (1) The master of every ship which arrives at any port in the Colony having aliens on board shall when required to do so by the Immigration Officer-
(a) furnish to such officer a list of the crew; (b) furnish to such officer a list of the passengers on board, distinguishing between first, second and deck or other class of passenger, and specifying their nationality, place of birth. occupation, the ports or places at which they embarked, and the ports or places of their disembarkation or intended disembarkation; (c) cause the crew and the passengers to be mustered
for inspection and interrogation.
(2) Any master who fails or refuses to comply with any of the provisions of subsection (1) shall be liable on conviction before a Police Court to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars and in default of payment to imprisonment of either description for any term not exceeding six months.
10. (1) Any alien who lands or disembarks or attempts to land or disembark contrary to the provi- sions of section 5 or of section 8 (2), and any person who aids or abets any alien in landing or disembarking contrary to such provisions, may be arrested without warrant by any police officer and shall be liable on
