A gift of one and a half hours was allocated to the evacuees
by the kindness of the Far Eastern Broadcasting Corporation, over
Station KZRM. One hour of this time was relayed to Hong Kong.
During the first half hour Red Cross workers spoke on the services
of the Red Cross and then many evacuees spoke to their husbands
and friends in Hong Kong. This service was much appreciated and
there were many expressions of gratitude both to KZRM for the
opportunity to speak, and to the Red Cross organization for its
help during the evacuation period. A return broadcast was later
received from Hong Kong.
