Acting Colonial Secretary, the Acting Surveyor General and Colonial Surgeon, I visited the site proposed by

M. Price in his letter of 5th March last to the Colonial Office. Apart the drawback connected with the

sloping nature of the ground the ~ site appears a very good

more healthy

one and a

one could hardly

be found in the Colony. The lot

marked 892 referred to by M. Price I am informed resumed

was

some years ago.

so that the whole

of the ground required belongs to

the Government.

The Acting Surveyor

General has prepared a tracing of

this

Enclosure 6-

this ground with longitudinal and transverse sections which may be

useful to Mr Price

if he has not yet

left England. Mr. Bowdler however thinks that the site at Bowrington

of which a tracing is also annexed

is

preferable both on the score

of less expense and more ventilation. This site is 16 feet above Ordnance datum whilst the sections taken

on the land above Bonham Road

are 100

-feet above this datum.

I have the honour to be,
