Following for Playfair from Waley. Begins.,
rom/Maley./
Hong Kong telegrams Nos. 146, 157 and 158, which were repeated to Washington. Please give the following message to Rogers.
Begins. We are hoping that Mr. T.V. Soong and you can come to London as soon as possible. It might be helpful for you to come on at once in advance if Mr. T.V. Soong cannot come immediately, but of course this is for you and him to settle.
2. We see no objection to your discussing fully and freely with Mr. T. V. Soong, but think it important that discussion should not be extended to anyone else. Any fuller information desired about our plans and discussion of those plans must, we think, await your arrival in London. Message ends.
Repeated to Shanghai No. 1417, Chungking No. 351.
