Japanese authorities recently suggested that Shanghai Municipal Council should give up premises of the Central Bank of China which they held on lease in exchange for other premises. After some discussion Municipal Council, who felt that they could not be expected to protect the property of the Chinese Government, agreed and Central Bank premises were taken over by Nanking authorities on November 9th.
