Copy telegram from Commander-in-Chief No. 485 (1040/10) to Naval Liaison Officer Shanghai requesting him to inform Admiral Oikawa, with regard to alleged firing at Japanese plane on 7th June, that H.M.Ships Kent" and "Dorsetshire" were carrying out firing practice in exercise area off Hong Kong on that date. An aircraft was sighted at least 5 miles away but too 14th Jun.1939 far distant to be identified. It is presumed this was

the Japanese plane in question.
