Violation of Hong Kong territory by Japanese aircraft: alleged use of Kai Tak aeródrome by Chinese.

Refers to Foreign Office letter of 18th May (F 4538/4161/10) enclosing copy Tokyo telegram No.420. Since incidents reported therein occurred a month ago and protests were made locally further protest in Tokyo seems unnecessary. Japanese Consul-General Canton now alleges Chinese aircraft are using Kai Tak aerodrome in Colony, and announced Japanese intention to pursue these aircraft within Colony if necessary. In this connexion encloses copy Hong Kong telegrams No.162 and No.163 of 2nd June and No.167 and No.168 of 5th June. Recommends Japanese Government be warned and measures taken to implement warning. (Copy Admiralty, War Office, Air Ministry.)
