During exchange of views with French here today following
information received regarding their partial withdrawal from North China.
Colonel Casseville and staff moving to Shanghai with two battalions from
Tientsin Area which will (?replace) two battalions (?going) (?from) Shanghai to Indo China. Remaining at Tientsin one (?tank battalion) with
detachments Poking Tangku and Chimwangtao.
French state result in
Shanghai will be no change except slight reduction in strength which will
interfere with training.
