Salvage operations at Hong Kong carried out by foreign companies.

Refer to Colonial Office letter of 25th July (F 7929/5616/23). Enclose copy of despatch of 22nd August from Governor of Hong Kong and of despatch of 29th September to him, regarding request by Japanese salvaging company to undertake salvaging operations at Hong Kong, and proposal that a regulation be issued prohibiting conducting of salvage operations in territorial waters of Hong Kong without consent of the Government.
