I have the honour to inform you that a

gift of Chinese National $200,000, the equivalent

of about $80,000 Hong Kong currency, has cen

handed to this Government by the Chairman of the

Chinese National Relief Commission in aid of this

Government's refugee relief work on behalf of

Chinese in Hong Kong. I have gratefully accepted

this donation which will be applied towards

defraying part of the cxpense of the construction

of a new camp to accomodate the Chinese soldiers

interned in this Colony, whose present quarters

will then be available for destitute women and

children.
