Dear Sir Stephen,

With reference to your letter of 30th August,

I have been informed by the Principal of the University of

London that he issued instructions to the Colleges of the

University attended by Chinese students. I have to-day

teleponed to a number of the Colleges and have ascertained

Indemnity that instructions will be issued to the Chinese /students in

the same form as to British students who are to be evacuated.

Yours sincerely,

With ander.
