Silk cocoon operations continue
slowly. In Haimen area 2 British Steamers have been
trading but Japanese bombardments are more continuous
and they complain that gunboat has interfered with their
operations. Little trade elsewhere.
Kwang no change.
Wuhu.
The question of landing Naval canteen beer
has now been settled at Shanghai and there should be no
difficulty about it in future.

Kiukiang no change.
The intimidation of Chinese
Hankow little change. S.N.0. reports preliminary reconnaissance for advance on (corrupt group) and Ichang was a failure and it is expected that this operation
will be abandoned. General. There have been larger
troop movements down river than up river.
