Barrier there is very little cargo coming forward in the

North of the Delta and even Japanese cannot get much.

In the district round Haimen not in Japanese occupation

there is a lot of cargo coming forward. Japanese Guard

Ships occasionally bombard the shore and creek and also

are trying to compel China customs to refuse clearance for

these ports. A Gunboat has been stationed in this district

to prevent interference with two British steamers working

this route.

Nanking Japanese have been searching in the reeds

near Hogee for Guerillas who are making their presence felt.

Wuhu Foreigners apprehensive in the absence of a

Armed raiders entered American General Hospital

compound and carried off two Chinese for reasons unknown.

A United States gunboat has visited Wuhu this week and our

usual gunboat will be there again in a few days.

Kiukiang military stores are being re-embarked and

sent up river.

Hankow Local Japanese military authorities are

very angry about successful arrival and departure of British
