I transmit to Your excellency herewith copy of
a letter which I have received from the Chairman and
Secretary of the Irish Presbyterian Mission at Belfest
on the subject of the closure of the Protestant Evangelical
Bible school at Newchwang.

school are British there is an American interest, end
two moricon missions are in fact represented on the board.
In these circumstances I shall be glad if you will
instruct the cting Consul-General at uxden, after
investigating the matter, to consult with his American
colleague with a view to such parallel action as may be
possible to secure the reopening of the school.
lie should,
in que course, furnish a report on the action he has been
eble to tako.
I am, with great truth and respect,
His Excellency
gir Archibald Clark Kerr,
etc., etc., etc.,
Shanghai.
Sir,
Your Excellency's obedient Servant,
