Services for the Japanese dead.

As these conditions were entirely repugnant to the

principles upon which the School was founded, and to the

convictions strongly held by the Trustees and the Subscribers

to the School, the School Authority have been, and still are,

unable to consent to their imposition and uue Institucion is

still closed.

in the circumstances, and accing on behalf of une Trustees

and the general body of Subscribers to the School, the British

Central Committee hereby crave the favour of the intervention

of His Majesty's Government to the end that such influence shall

be brougnt to bear upon the Japanese Authorities as snall permit

of the reopening of trie School, and tue continuance of lus work,

unfettered by restrictions which are at variance with the

fundamental principles upon which the Institution was founded.
