Under unis Conveyance the Trustees were empowered to hold

the property aforesaid as joint tenants, subject to the following

trusts:-

(1) To apply any income coming into their hands for

the use of the School, eitner in extending the buildings, or erecting new buildings, or

"otnerwise in improving une same for the purposes of the said Institute or School":

(2) To let the premises upon such terms as the trustees

might decide:

(3) To sell and dispose of any part of the premises

as they, the trustees, should decide: all moneys received in respect thereof to be held or applied for the said Institute or School.

By a further Conveyance of 1938 that portion of the buildings

known as the Home of Rest was transferred to the aforesaid Trustees

subject to trusts corresponding to (1), (2), and (3) above, it

being provided that, in the event of the Home of Rest being disposed of, the proceeds should be devoted to sucn Missionary work

in China as the Trustees should decide.

As a result of the operation of the Conveyances of 1935 and

1938 the entire property in the Newchwang Bible School and the

Home of Rest is now vested in the Trustees aforesaid.

In April of the present year a demand was received from the Japanese Education Authority requiring registration of the School.

This demand was followed by discussions between the Reverend James

McCammon, acting on behalf of the School Authority, and the

Japanese Police. As a result the latter intimated that pending the settlement of the question of registration une School would

be allowed to reopen in September. However, notwithstanding this intimation the School was closed by the Japanese authorities at

the end of August, the reason given in the press being the

a Government Decree refusal of the School Authority to conform to which, as a condition of registration, required participation in
