Notification to Japanese of particulars of British property.

Refers to Foreign Office telegram No. 846

(F 12293/1870/10). Agrees with views expressed by Sir A. Clark Kerr in his telegram No. 1313 (F 12293/1870/10) Understands from United States Embassy that Japanese authorities in China are notified by the United States Consulate concerned of any American properties which may be in immediate vicinity of Chinese military agencies or establishments. It is normally made clear that such notifications do not in any way modify Japanese responsibilities in respect of American property.

Repeated to Shanghai telegram No. 273.
