Import of "duty-free" Japanese goods into Shanghai.
Encloses translation of an extract from a pamphlet entitled "The economic revival and "reconstruction of Central China" published in Shanghai by the Sino-Japanese Reseñach Institute in August, 1938. This translation gives some figures for the duty-free import of Japanese goods into Shanghai by Nippon Yusen Kaisha ships from outbreak of hostilities until June, 1938. It seems likely that goods mentioned were not even imported under
