Transmits copy (1) note of 23rd February from Minister for Foreign Affairs referring to Ambassador's note of 21st February (F 1782/1696/10), expressing profound regret and stating that after strict investigation necessary disciplinary action will be taken and a settlement brought about between local British and Japanese authorities. (2) Ambassador's reply of 25th February agreeing that incident should be settled on terms stated.
