Major General Taneka celled on me this
morning and expressed General andʊ's deep regret end
apology for Shumchun incident.
I replied that I was
highly appreciative of General Ando's action in sending his Chief of Staff on this mission end was glad to know that the incident hed been disposed of setifactorily
by the Governments concerned.
Discussion re compensetion will take place
with the Colonial Secretary this afternoon.
Tomorrow
other points will be discussed between the Commander in
Chief the General Jfficer Commending and the person named.
