1. As I mentioned to you on the telephone, Mr Cortazzi has asked me to circulate copies of HM Ambassador's, Peking, secret and personal letter of 24 May to those members of the PUS Planning Committee who are principally concerned with the "Chinese dimension to policy planning for Hong Kong. A copy of Mr Youde's letter is attached for each recipient of this minute.
2. The Planning Paper on Hong Kong will be the subject of further discussion with Sir Denys Roberts, the Colonial Secretary in Hong Kong, during his visit in the week beginning 7 June, when Mr Youde's comments will be taken into account. I propose to circulate a programme for Sir Denys Roberts' visit to those who will be concerned.
