In discussion THE COMMITTEE agreed:-
(a) Certain amendments to both reports.

That a reference to the dangers involved if the
talks failed to lead to a U.S. commitment should be included at the end of paragraph 5 of JP(57)165. A draft amendment to this effect should be circulated for their approval.
That, after amendment as at (a) and (b) above,
both reports should be submitted to the Defence Committee through the United Kingdom Preparatory Working Party.

should be forwarded to the British Defence Co-ordination Committee (Far East) for information.
