Federation of Hong Kong Industries and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He himself is a member of the Cotton Advisory Board and became a member of the Chinese University Council in 1963. He has travelled extensively and keeps himself abreast of new developments, commercial and technical, in textiles. He is 66 years of age, but is fit and vigorous and looks much younger. Mr. Tang is not on good terms with Sir Sik-nin Chau, but the appointment of a Shanghai man breaks new ground and will generally be well received.

Mr. Fung Hon-chu

The Managing Director of a firm of rattan ware manufacturers, Mr. Fung is a naturalised British subject who was born in South Kwangtung 53 years ago. He also has commercial and property interests. He has been an Unofficial Justice of the Peace since 1960 and also since that date a nominated unofficial member of the Urban Council. He has been appointed temporarily to the Legislative Council on three or four occasions between 1958 and 1963.

He was

a member of the General Committee of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries from its inauguration in 1960 until last year, and is presently a member of the Legislation Committee of that body. His public service and interests include service on a number of committees and tribunals, the Tung Wah Hospitals, St. John Ambulance and the British Red Cross Society.

Mr. Tse Yu-chuen, 0.B.E.

His

Mr. Tse, a naturalised British subject born in Canton in 1900, was educated and has spent almost his whole life in Hong Kong. He is widely respected throughout the community for his integrity and common-sense. business is that of an importer and owner of a construction company, but he has interests in a number of lesser concerns. He has a long and impressive record of public service on a wide variety of boards and committees and is still serving on the Social Welfare Advisory Committee. In the public mind he is perhaps most closely associated with the Kaifong movement. He was a Founder Member in 1950 and subsequently Chairman of the Causeway Bay Kaifong. He is still President of this Kaifong, but no longer holds active office. He was appointed an Unofficial Justice of the Peace in 1958 and awarded the 0.B.E. the same year.

Mr. Woo Pak-chuen, O.B.E.

Born in Hong Kong, known local family. He is 54. of a leading firm of solicitors.
