Ladies and Gentlemen:
Colonialism has given the general public of Hong Kong low
wages, rising costs of living, expensive school fees as suggested in the White Paper, double charges in water and a coming funny system of public utilities such as the telephone company.
We can only solve our problem by political means i.e. to oust
colonialism.
One of the great aims of the Labour Party of Hong Kong is to secure for the workers by hand or by brain the full fruits of the industry and the most equitable distribution thereof that may be possible upon the basis of common ownership of the means of production, tion and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administra- tion and control of each industry or service.

By nationalising the Hong Kong Telephone Co., Ltd., the long Kong Star Ferry Co., Ltd., China Motor Co., Ltd., Yaumati Ferry Co., Ltd., the Hong Kong Tramways Ltd., the Kowloon Bus Co., Ltd., the Peak Cram Co., Ltd., and other big enterprises, we can certainly offer better pay for the workers and much better service to the general public of
