SITUATION IN WAZIRISTAN.
Note by Secretary.
The attached memorandum by the Air Staff on
Papor N...P. (G) (40) 23 on the subject of
operations in Waziristan and a copy of a letter
from the Secretary of State for Air, dated 2nd
February, 1940, to the Minister for Co-ordination
of Defence "and Lord Chatfield's reply thereto,
dated 3rd February have been circulated for
consideration, in the first instance, by the
Joint Planning Sub-Committee.
2.
The matter is of some urgency, and it is
therefore proposed to discuss this question at a
meeting of the Chiefs of Staff to be held on
Tuesday next, 6th February.
