Following is the policy for the immediate employ- ment of Units of R. M. Group, M.N.B.D.O. without prejudice to reconstitution of complete organisation should circumstances necessitate later:

(a) Reconstituted A. Brigade to be despatched to

Ceylon as C.0. S. 212.

(b) L. & M. Unit to reform and equip to establish-

ment in Ceylon, and to he at disposal of, and under command and administration of, G.0.C. India for improvement of base defences in Indian Ocean area particularly Addu Atoll.

(c) C.A. Brigade to reform and equip to establish-

ment in Middle East at the disposal,

and under command and administration of, G.0.C.- in-C., Middle East. Above is subject to provision that batteries may if necessity arises be withdrawn to provide defences for bases in Indian Ocean arca, due warning being given.

(a) 11th Battalion Royal Marines to remain in

Middle East and be employed and administered as agreed between C.-in-C., Mediterranean, and G.0.C.-in-C., Middle East; Admiralty and War Office to be informed of decision.

(e) 11th Searchlight regiment, Signals Company and

Survey and Met. Section less sub units required with the above to remain in Middle East under command and administration of G. 0. C.-in-C., Middle East.

Replacement of personnel and agreed equipment will be sent from United Kingdom in accordance with this re- organisation. Personnel will include 10% first reinforcements,

H. Q. Group to be retained in Middle East and employed as agreed between C.-in-C., Mediterranean, and C.-in-C., Middle East. Admiralty and War Office to be informed of decision.

Details of diversion of equipment and personnel now on passage and being despatched from United Kingdom will follow.
