The anti-aircraft defences will thus be raised from the present totals of 24 heavy anti- aircraft and 10 light anti-aircraft to 32 heavy anti-aircraft and 24 light anti-aircraft guns.
It
The future role of guns under (b) above make it essential for mobile guns to be sent. will be seen, however, that after the January allocation for Middle East and Turkey have been met only 19 mobile guns remain for distribution; of these 4 are required for Turkey vide paragraph 10 below.
It is therefore recommended that the
following addition should now be made to the Gibraltar Garrison:-

The 8 mobile 3.7" and 12 of the 24 40 mm. should be earmarked for the role referred to under (b) above and consideration be given to making up the balance from March production.
6. Middle East. As recommended in paragraph 2 the balance of January allocation is to be made good.
In addition it is suggested that the remaining mobile guns should be sent viz. 8 H,A,A. It is not recommended that further static guns be sent nor should further mobiles be withdrawn from A.D.G.B. in replacement for static guns.
As regards light anti-aircraft, 36 guns are allotted. The position with regard to guns going with convoy W.S. 7 will thus be:
