General Staff.

The Chiefs of Staff at their 293rd Meeting on 4th September, 1940, approved plans to counteract the German
and to command attempt to master the Dover promontory;
the channel at its marrowest part. These plans involve the installation of equipments in the Dover Area, and details of these are set out below:
