The Prime Minister has minuted as follows on the attached telegram received by the Secretary of State for War -
"Pray have these telegrams examined at the earliest moment by the Chiefs of the Staff Committee and let me have on one or two pages their comments upon them".

2. It is suggested that the Chiefs of Staff may not be ready to consider these telegrams in detail at the Meeting to-morrow THURSDAY, 17TH OCTOBER, 1940 but they may wish to have a preliminary discussion on the procedure to be adopted.
