De Gaulle discussed his second proviso with me. He had particularly in mind the operations against Libreville. He considers that the French Command alone should decide whether, and if so how, such operations should be undertaken. subsequent conversation, in the same connection, he mentioned the possibility of operations against Dahomey or Niger Colony from Nigerian base. I did not encourage this idea.
