Attack on Ireland.

Y OBJECTIVES.

This may take the form of seaborne or air- borne attack,

(a) As a diversion. (b) To occupy Ireland in order to establish air and submarine bases for attack on shipping in the Western Approaches or on our west coast ports and industries.

In the case of (b) the likely objectives

will be

Airborne landings at

SCALE OF ATTACK.

Sea-borne attack. We would not expect the equivalent of more than a division to be employed, accompanied by A. A. guns for the protection of aerodromes add a proportion of heavy guns for coast defence.

Airbome attack.

Seaborne attack may be carried out by German merchant ships from Germany Scandinavia or Spain, sailing as individual ships not as an expedition. Small forces Light also be landed from submarines and fishing craft.
