Telegram from the Governor-General of the Union of South Africa to the Secretary of State for the Colonies.

February 9.

MY telegram, 20th January: Imperial Conference. I have to-day received following Minute from Ministers :—

Begins Referring to Ministers Minute No. 68, Ministers have the honour to inform bis Excellency that on reconsideration they have decided to withdraw the draft resolution No. 4, which they have proposed for discussion at the forthcoming Imperial Conference, and that they respectfully request his Excellency to dispatch a cablegram to that effect to the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies as soon as possible. Ministers have the honour further to inform his Excellency that the Right Honourable the Prime Minister hopes that he has opportunity during his stay in London to discuss question raised in the draft resolution No. 4 which has now been withdrawn with His Majesty's Government. Ends.
