A.D. 1886. licensing justices, and the division were a licensing district within the meaning of the last-mentioned Acts, and the general annual meeting and special licensing meetings were a general annual licensing meeting and special sessions appointed by such justices.
(2.) On and after the aforesaid day any act or thing authorised 5 or required to be done to or by the justices, and to or by their officers, in or incidental to a general annual licensing meeting or special sessions shall be exerciseable by and authorised or required to be done to or by a statutory committee or the members of a statutory committee and their officers in or incidental to any general 10 annual licensing meeting or special licensing meeting held by such statutory committee or members of a statutory meeting.
(8.) On and after the aforesaid day any two or more members of a statutory committee acting together shall, as respects the appointing the exact time and place at which a general licensing 15 meeting is to be held, and as respects all persons and premises within their division, and all matters and things arising in respect of such persons or premises, for the purposes of licensing, have the same jurisdiction they would have under the Licensing Acts if they were justices of the peace and the division were a petty sessional 20 division for which such justices acted, and as if their meeting were a petty sessions of the pease; and any act or thing authorised to be done by or to two or more justices of the peace within a petty sessional division may be done by or to two or more members of a statutory committee acting together; and where two or more 25 justices are declared by the Licensing Acts to be the local authority in any place, two or more members of the statutory committee of the division in which such place is situate shall be deemed to he the local authority,
(4.) On and after the aforesaid day any jurisdiction, consent, act, 80 or thing in relation to licensing which is required or authorised to be done in any place by or to one justice of the peace or by one justice of the peace usually acting at the petty sessions of the petty sessional division within which a place is situate may be done within his division by one member of the statutory committee of 35 division in which such place is situate.
(5.) The provisions of the Licensing Acta with respect to the disqualification of justices shall not apply to the members of the county council.
(6.) On and after the aforesaid day the county council shall 40 pease to appoint a county licensing committee; and all the pro-
