1. The Cabinet had before them a first draft
of the King's Speech on the Prorogation of Parlia-
ment (Paper C.F.-254 (28)).
In the course of a discussion the following
suggestions were made in regard to the preliminary
draft:-
The second sentence should read as follows:
"The Queen and I retain the pleasantest recollections of their visit".
Third paragraph, relating to the Tangier situation:
The Secretary should verify whether the terms of the Tangier Agreement will have been laid before the rising of Parliament; otherwise a verbal amendment would be required to show that the Agreementwill be laid.
As regards the fifth paragraph
(bottom of page 2):
The Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs was asked to consider carefully whether it was desirable to refer to the Resolution of the Imperial Con- ference of 1926 if reference was to be made only to the arrange- ments made with a single Dominion
(viz. Canada) for giving effect to it.
Mr Amery also undertook to consider whether some reference should be made to the arrange- ments that have been in operation for some time in South Africa in regard to inter-communication.
After the fifth paragraph, that is to say, at the bottom of page 2, a new paragraph should be added in regard to the Imperial Wireless Conference, which the Secretary of State for Scotland undertook to have prepared.
RATING RELIBE. (Top of page 4).
The Minister of Health reported to the Cabinet that he had sent to the Secretary a draft paragraph in regard to the Rating and Valuation
