Submarine Mines. In this section is the Mine-field No. 4 across the Lyemun Pass, and also Mine-field No. 5, some distance inside the pass. The test-room and dynamo are in Lyemun Redoubt. The electric light emplace- ment is below the Reverse Battery. A Brennan torpedo installation is also now approaching completion in the pass.
Scope. The object of this section is to defend the eastern entrance to the harbour, to prevent a landing in Sywan and Lyemun Bays, and to offer resistance to a force which may have landed on the east coast or at Stanley, and be aiming at taking the forts in rear, or occupying the heights which command them.
