Mat-sheds will be built to take the place of tents when completed. Camp Equipment and Stores.-The camp equipment and stores and tools required for use in the section are enumerated in the annexed Schedules XVII (1) and XVIII (1). They are [kept separate by the S.O.S.O. ready for immediate issue, and on mobilization will be sent straight to the head-quarters of the section by means of transport to be provided by the Officer Commanding Army Service Corps without requisition. The Section Commander will receive the stores on the ground, and will sign the customary receipt voucher.

Reinforcement in case of Attack.-In case of attack and reinforcement of gunners being required, they could probably be obtained only from Lyemun.

If a landing is threatened and more infantry are required, reinforcements might be obtained from the Kowloon Reserve. A company of infantry and a company of Maxim guns might also be expected from the Victoria Reserve.

Communication.-There are paths of communication all over the island, and telephonic communication between the West Battery and the other batteries and the camp-the West Battery being in telegraphic communication with Fortress Head-quarters, Belcher's, Kowloon West, &c.

In the event of the telegraph failing, the visual signallers can com- municate, in clear weather, with the visual stations at Kowloon West and Fly Point.

Method of Supply: Ammunition.-The complement of ammunition for the guns of this section is 200 rounds for each, except the quick-firing guns, which have 500 rounds, and the machine-guns, which have 10,000. The whole is. stored in the magazines of the forts, except 100 cartridges per 9-inch R.M.L. gun (200 in all) at Stonecutter's East, which is kept in the hands of the O.S.D. owing to there being insufficient accommodation in the fort. Sufficient accommodation will, however, be set free by the removal of the 8-inch howitzer
