Submarine Mines.-Nos. 1 and 2 Mine-fields are connected with this section. The test-room is in West Battery, and the dynamo under the east wall of that battery. The electric light emplacements are near South Shore Battery for No. 2 Mine-field, and below the new barracks for No. 1 Mine-field.
Scope. The objects of this section are to oppose with its heavy guns, in concert with Sections II and III, an attack or bombardment by a fleet, to serve and protect the mine-fields, and to prevent a landing on the island.
