The defensive lines are further supplemented by regimental signalling posts at the telephone stations. A brigade signalling post of 3 men is established at the Section Commanders, Sacred Hill.

23. Camps.-The Camp Commandant and O.C. reserves will issue orders for the guarding, discipline, conduct, and regularity of their camps.

25. Sanitation and Latrines.—Os.C. posts reserves and the Camp Commandant will pay particular attention to the sanitation of their camp. The trench system of latrines to be adopted as far as practicable in localities to be selected by them.

26. Water Supply. The water for troops on the hills will be found close to their positions. Care should be taken that no water is used for drinking and cooking which passes through cultivation. The drinking supply for troops near Kowloon City is procurable from the Dairy Farm and a hydrant to be erected at Sacred Hill; the washing supply from wells in the Police Station and at 23, Hua Street.

27. Ammunition, Small-arms.--Pouch ammunition (150 rounds

per rifle for infantry, 60 rounds for other units), 10,000 rounds per Maxim gun and 150 rounds first reserve per rifle will be left in unit charge. Second reserve of 300 rounds per rifle will be stored in Kowloon West Fort for post at Eagle's Nest and vicinity, and in Field Magazine, A.O.D., Sacred Hill, for other posts and detachments.

28. Ammunition, Gun.-O.C.H.K.S.B. R.G.A. will issue his own orders as regards gun ammunition and its storage when distributed. Tarpaulin for covering ammunition will be requisitioned for by accounting units as found necessary.

29. Kits. The scale of baggage allowed is 60 lb. for officers, 20 lb. for rank and file, and an additional 10 lb. for 2 days' preserved rations, fuel, blankets, and water- proof sheets (included in weights given) will be taken from those in possession of units in peace time. 10 lb. for followers.

30. Arrival Reports.-Arrival Reports are to be sent to Staff Officer, Sacred Hill, as soon as units reach their posts. The Staff Officer will see that the Brigade Signallers get into communication with Haiwan immediately on arrival at Sacred Hill.
