18. Rations.—O.C. units will arrange that in the first instance the two days' rations on units charge are taken out with the troops. Thereafter rations will be issued daily from the main depôt at Sacred Hill, Kowloon. Indents for rations required for the third and following days are to be submitted so as to reach the Section Staff Officer daily, twenty-four hours before required for issue-by 10 A.M. daily.
These,rations will be sent in bulk to the Officer in charge of supplies, Sacred Hill. The cation depôt at Sacred Hill will also hold reserve of one week's supply which will only be drawn on in emergencies, and with approval of Section Commander.
Any withdrawals from this depôt to be made good at once by the Officer or n.c.o. in charge.
O.C. units will arrange for the despatch of rations to their men in outlying posts. Oil, wick, candles, &c., for two days will be taken with them by detachments to their posts, including telephonists.
Further supplies will be arranged for by O.C. units to be despatched with rations. The British infantry telephonists will be attached to the O.C.B.I. (general reserve) for rations, light, &c., and he will see that they are despatched to the various posts.
19. Guns of Movable Armament. The normal order for moving the guns and Howitzers of the movable armament into position will be as follows:
2-95-in. Q.F. 15-pr. Q.F.
4.7-in. Q.F.
5-in. Howitzers 5-in. Howitzers 4.7-in. Q.F.
4.2 each to Customs Pass and Eagle's Nest.
2 to Eagle's Nest.
2 to Tate's Cairn.
2 to Eagle's Nest.
2 to Crown Point. 2 to Chinlanchu.
20. Coolie transport is provided for 2-95-in. guns, the remainder will be moved into position by their detachments, assisted by infantry.
The O.C.H.K.S.B. R.G.A. will requisition on the Section Staff Officer for the infantry details required.
The necessary sentries over guns will be furnished from the gun detachments. Escorts, when necessary for guns, will be furnished by the infantry posts in vicinity; the reserve at Shatin Pass will be requisitioned on for any escort required at Crown
Point.
21. Collecting and Dressing Stations.-Collecting stations for sick and wounded will be established at :-
(1.) Junctions of Customs Jetty and
Tate's Cairn roads
(2.) Junction of Grass Cutters and
Shatin Pass roads
(3.) On Kowloon Pass road west of
rifle range
(4.) Junction of frontier road and military road to Eagle's Nest
For troops within the line Lau Tong,
Chinlanchu, Tate's Cairn, all inclusive
For troops within the line Tate's Cairn
and Crown Point, inclusive.
For troops within the line, Lion Rock and east slopes of Beacon Hill, inclusive.
For troops within the line west of slope, Beacon Hill, Piper's Hill, inclusive.
Dressing station will be established close to the Kowloon City road at Sacred Hill. Its position will be distinguished by a hospital flag by day and by two white lamps (horizontal) by night. This dressing station will be used for troops collected at (1), (2), and (3); sick and wounded collected at (4), will be sent to the base hospital, Whitfield Barracks. The dressing station for troops on the right of the line of Haiwan and Devil's Peak will be situated near the sea west of Devil's Peak (to be arranged in the Eastern Fire Command).
