6. Ration Escorts.-The O.C. the Reserve will furnish the O.C.A.S.C. Victoria and Kowloon on their requisition with escorts for the distribution of rations to sections, and to take charge of the coolies employed.

7. Movement.-Troops will move off to their sections in accordance with time table attached.

(See Table F (ii).)

8. Army Service Corps Duties.-The Inspector of Army Schools and the Garrison School Master will report themselves at once to the O.C.A.S.C. for employment in connection with A.S.C. duties.

9. Schools. All schools in the garrison will be closed.

(C.)-Action by D.A.Q.M.G.

(i.) At the "Precautionary" Stage.

1. He will be responsible for the movement of all troops to their stations as shown in Table B (i).

(ii.) At the "War

Stage.

1. He will be responsible for the movement of all troops to their various sections.

2. He will, on the "war" stage being notified or previously, on receipt by the G.O.C. of instructions from the Governor, notify their appointment to the Censorship Staff of 1 censor, 19 assistant censors or decoding clerks, and 2 interpreters, whose names he has registered, establish a censorship of submarine cables, and supervise the working of it.

3. He is charged with the custody of a packet containing the documents to be issued to the censor on the establishment of cable censorship, and which was checked and compared with the Defence Scheme revised to the 30th June, 1905.

4. He will have charge of all arrangements connected with receiving, collating, and distributing intelligence. Intelligence will be received from-

(a.) The Governor, who will communicate by telephone or messenger direct to the G.O.C. at the headquarters office in Fletcher Street any information he may receive by cable from the Secretary of State, or from the Governors of neighbouring countries.

(b.) The Commodore, who will communicate by the direct telephone line from his office in the dockyard, or by messenger with the G.O.C. at the headquarters office, any information he may receive by cable or from incoming ships, with regard to the location. and movement of any enemy's ships in the neighbourhood of Hong Kong, also information of the intended entrance or exit of any of His Majesty's ships to or from the harbour.

(c.) The Harbour Master, who will inform the D.A.Q.M.G. at the headquarters office through the Colonial telephone system, which centres in the Central Police Station, or by messenger, and also, on examining vessels concerned, of the approach of any ships communicating with any of the ships' signalling stations, and also of the hour of departure of any ships from the harbour.

(d.) The Superintendent of Police, who will communicate to the D.A.Q.M.G. at the headquarters office, by telephone or by messenger, any information he may receive through the police system of communication, which centres in the Central Police Exchange, of any hostile or suspicious movement of ships or men in the neighbourhood of the outlying stations north of Tai-Po, or the mainland, or along the south shore of the island of Hong Kong.
