This table of armament will supersede that now given on page 8. In the latter table, it is stated that fourteen Maxim machine guns are "in charge of " the Royal Garrison Artillery. Presumably this arrangement, if it still exists, is for convenience of storage in the forts during peace, and does not imply that any of these infantry weapons are manned by R.G.A. in war.
