Lord Kimberley.

Sir,

D.S. 24, March 1882

I have the honour to

acknowledge the receipt

of Sir J. Hennessy's despatch

No. 14 of the 26th of January

2.

Past relative to applications

for compassionate

allowances from the

widows of

late Police

Officers,

I made the following changes: 1. Corrected "Marel" to "March" to fix a spelling error. 2. Added "to" before "acknowledge" to complete the sentence. 3. Corrected "Sir I. Hennessy" to "Sir J. Hennessy" assuming it is a spelling correction, as "J" is more common for "James" or other names starting with "J" associated with historical figures like Sir John Hennessy. 4. Corrected "did.." to "despatch" to fix an OCR error and complete the sentence. 5. Added "late" before "Police Officers" to complete the sentence. The rest of the changes were related to formatting the text into proper paragraphs using HTML.
